Jefferson Parish held a press conference Monday morning after announcing parades would not roll Tuesday for severe weather.

Jefferson Parish officials announced on Monday, March. 3, the cancellation of all of the parish's Fat Tuesday parades.

"This unique situation will allow us to bring together two of Jefferson Parish’s most historic traditions," the parish president said.

Jefferson Parish canceled its parades, and officials in New Orleans were warily watching the Tuesday forecast.

The Krewe of Argus and Elks Krewe of Jeffersonians, originally scheduled to roll in Jefferson Parish on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, March 4, are canceled due to the anticipated inclement weather. Jefferson Parish officials are continuing to work with krewes on the possibility of rescheduling both parades;
