Israel and Hezbollah accelerated their cross-border attacks overnight into Sunday, in a rapidly deteriorating situation that has the adversaries as close to full-out war as they have been in their nearly yearlong conflict.

The death toll from a "targeted attack" by the Israeli military on a Beirut suburb Friday rose to 37, including seven women and three children, Lebanon's health minister said on Saturday, as Israel and the militant group Hezbollah continued to trade strikes. The U.S. also urged Americans in Lebanon to leave the country.

Hezbollah has launched over 100 rockets across a wider and deeper area of northern Israel, with some landing near the city of Haifa, as the sides appeared to be spiraling toward all-out war following months of escalating tensions.
