Women, children and members of Iran's oppressed Baluchi population were among those excecuted by the country's brutal regime.

The total is the highest recorded in nine years and marks a 6% increase from 2023 At least 901 people were reportedly executed in Iran last year, including about 40 in a single week in December, according to the UN human rights chief.

The number of people executed in Iran rose to 901 last year, including 31 women, some of whom were convicted of murdering their husbands after suffering abuse or being forced into marriage, the U.N. human rights office said on Tuesday.

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) reported Monday that at least 31 women were executed under Islamic law in 2024, which marks the highest annual toll in 17 years. The report also highlighted a troubling
