Infielder DJ LeMahieu has been designated for assignment by the New York Yankees. He is owed nearly $22 million on the remainder of his six-year contract that ran through 2026.
It does not sound as if anything is necessarily imminent in terms of Jazz Chisholm Jr. moving back to second base and DJ LeMahieu shifting to third.
Unless another team claims him, the club will owe LeMahieu about $22 million, which includes $15 million for the 2026 season.
