Vaughn made the Opening Day roster with the White Sox in 2021 and hit .235 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI. He hit 57 home runs over the next three seasons, including 21 in 2023, when he also drove in 80 runs. He struggled in the early part of 2025 and was sent to the minors before the White Sox traded him to the Brewers.

Milwaukee filled his spot on the roster by calling up Vaughn, who was acquired in a June 13 trade that sent pitcher Aaron Civale to the White Sox. Vaughn had been hitting .259 with a .338 on-base percentage, three homers and 16 RBIs in 16 games with the Brewers’ Triple-A Nashville affiliate.
