Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava sent a letter to Florida's attorney general requesting access and monitoring of the detention site, which was built on county land.

"Alligator Alcatraz" is the name posted in front of the hastily converted immigrant detention facility in the Florida Everglades.
